Pre & Post-Treatment Guidelines for Medical Grade Skin Peels
Clinical skin peels are a highly effective treatment for addressing acne, comedones, milia, pigmentation issues, and collagen loss. To maximize the benefits and ensure the safety and efficacy of your treatment, it is crucial to follow specific pre-treatment and post-treatment guidelines meticulously.
Pre-Treatment Guidelines (5-10 Days Before Procedure)
Essential Steps Before Your Skin Peel
Use the Balancing Kit:
Components: Gentle Cleanser, Soothe Cream, and Organic Sunscreen.
Purpose: These products are designed to prepare your skin for the peel and prevent any adverse reactions.
Avoid Active Ingredients:
What to Avoid: AHA, BHA, Retinol, all acids, abrasive scrubs.
Reason: These ingredients can cause sensitivity and irritation, compromising the peel’s effectiveness.
Do Not Exfoliate:
Importance: Exfoliating can increase skin sensitivity and interfere with the peel’s results.
Products to Have On-Hand
Gentle Cleanser: Zo or Vivier Pharma recommended.
Non-Chemical Sunscreen: Ensure it is free from chemicals that might irritate your skin.
Soothing Cream: Our recommended options or alternatives like Calendula Plus by Homeocam or Trauma Care Cream (available at Hoopers Pharmacy, 31 Main Street North, Brampton).
Purified Water or Evian Mineral Spray: To keep your skin hydrated.
Benadryl: For swelling management (Note: May cause drowsiness, avoid driving).
